Dave and Carol moved from chilly Iowa to sunny Arizona and have been permanent residents since 1999. Since moving here, they both thoroughly enjoy the active lifestyle that Westbrook Village has to offer. Their hobbies include golf, tennis, reading, travelling, and exercising.

All of this activity doesn’t surprise us considering their backgrounds prior to retirement! Dave started teaching and coaching at the high school level where he then went on to be an associate athletic director at Iowa State University for 16 years. Followed by time spent as athletic director at the University of Nebraska Omaha. Dave then retired after his position as athletic administration director at Kansas State University. Carol kept herself busy being a homemaker and working part-time jobs in banking and as a Johnny Orr Baseball Camp Director. This couple has even coordinated nationally televised football games! What an exciting experience!

When asked about their greatest accomplishments, the couple boasted that they have been married for 55 years and have been able to give their 2 wonderful children Jenny and Bobby, the ability to make great decisions. Dave also adds that Carol’s “money sense” allowed them to retire early and enjoy “the good life.”

Dave and Carol are the proud grandparents of 5. Mackenzie, Brady, Cody, Carter, and Annie.
